You can call our admissions team, walk in during clinic hours, or have a referral sent by a healthcare provider. We offer same-day assessments and treatment whenever possible.

How do I start treatment at Alliance Wellness Clinic?
-
-
What happens at the first visit?
-
You’ll complete paperwork, provide a urine drug screen (UA), and meet with a provider for a history and physical (H&P). You’ll also review medication options and counseling services. If appropriate, you may receive your first dose the same day.
-
What are the admissions criteria for an Opioid Treatment Program (OTP)?
-
Federal and state regulations require that patients meet certain criteria before starting methadone or other OTP services. At Alliance Wellness Clinic, you may be admitted if:
- You are 18 years or older
- You have a history of opioid use disorder for at least 12 months (documented by medical, legal, or treatment records). Exceptions may apply in cases of pregnancy, recent incarceration, or discharge from another treatment program.
- You complete a comprehensive medical and psychosocial assessment (including a history and physical exam, UA, and review of records).
- You meet diagnostic criteria for opioid use disorder (OUD) as defined by DSM-5.
- You provide informed consent and agree to participate in counseling as part of your treatment plan.
Our admissions team will walk you through these requirements to make the process clear, respectful, and supportive.
-
Do I need to be in withdrawal before I come in?
-
That depends on the medication. For buprenorphine, mild withdrawal is typically required before induction. For methadone, you do not need to be in withdrawal. Our providers will guide you through the safest approach for your situation.
-
What medications are available at Alliance Wellness Clinic?
-
We provide FDA-approved medications for opioid use disorder, including:
- Methadone
- Buprenorphine/Suboxone®
-
How do you decide which medication is right for me?
-
Your provider will review your history, goals, and current needs. Together, you’ll choose the option that best supports your recovery.
-
Will I get “high” from Methadone or Buprenorphine?
-
No. When taken as prescribed, these medications stabilize brain chemistry without producing the rapid highs of other opioids.
-
Is counseling required?
-
Yes. Counseling is required and is an essential part of treatment. You’ll receive weekly sessions with your counselor for the first 10 weeks, followed by monthly sessions after that, with the option to meet more often anytime you need additional support. You’ll also have access to group counseling and peer recovery services to help build long-term stability.
-
What is peer recovery support?
-
Peer Recovery Specialists are individuals with lived experience in addiction and recovery. They provide encouragement, share strategies, and walk alongside you as part of your care team.
-
Do you accept insurance?
-
Yes. We accept Medciare, Medicaid, most commercial insurance policies, and private pay. Our admissions team can help verify in-network coverage prior to starting treatment.
-
What if I don’t have transportation?
-
Case managers can assist with transportation resources and scheduling to make sure you can attend appointments.
-
Do you accept guest dosing patients?
-
Yes. We offer guest dosing for individuals traveling or visiting from another OTP. Coordination with your home clinic is required.
-
Is my treatment confidential?
-
Absolutely. Your information is protected under HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2. We only share information with your written consent or when required by law for safety.
-
Is medication-assisted treatment safe?
-
Yes. When taken as prescribed and monitored by a provider, FDA-approved medications for opioid use disorder are safe, effective, and proven to reduce the risk of overdose.
-
Does Alliance Wellness Clinic see opioid use disorder as an addiction problem or a medical issue?
-
We treat OUD as the healthcare condition it is. We provide treatment with dignity, compassion, and evidence-based care.
-
What makes Alliance Wellness Clinic different from other programs?
-
We provide all FDA-approved medications, integrate counseling and peer support, and deliver care in a stigma-free environment. We’re committed to expanding access, improving outcomes, and setting the highest standard of OTP care.
