Frequently Asked Questions

How do I start treatment at Alliance Wellness Clinic?

You can call our admissions team, walk in during clinic hours, or have a referral sent by a healthcare provider. We offer same-day assessments and treatment whenever possible.

You’ll complete paperwork, provide a urine drug screen (UA), and meet with a provider for a history and physical (H&P). You’ll also review medication options and counseling services. If appropriate, you may receive your first dose the same day.

Federal and state regulations require that patients meet certain criteria before starting methadone or other OTP services. At Alliance Wellness Clinic, you may be admitted if:

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You have a history of opioid use disorder for at least 12 months (documented by medical, legal, or treatment records). Exceptions may apply in cases of pregnancy, recent incarceration, or discharge from another treatment program.
  • You complete a comprehensive medical and psychosocial assessment (including a history and physical exam, UA, and review of records).
  • You meet diagnostic criteria for opioid use disorder (OUD) as defined by DSM-5.
  • You provide informed consent and agree to participate in counseling as part of your treatment plan.

Our admissions team will walk you through these requirements to make the process clear, respectful, and supportive.

That depends on the medication. For buprenorphine, mild withdrawal is typically required before induction. For methadone, you do not need to be in withdrawal. Our providers will guide you through the safest approach for your situation.

We provide FDA-approved medications for opioid use disorder, including:

  • Methadone
  • Buprenorphine/Suboxone®

Your provider will review your history, goals, and current needs. Together, you’ll choose the option that best supports your recovery.
